The workshop will provide students the opportunity to observe, interact with and play side-by-side with this world-class musician-led ensemble.  Palaver will play for the students, talk about the community outreach work they do, share their most meaningful musical experiences and answer questions.  They will also engage students in warm-up exercises.   Students will then be divided into smaller groups and rotate through stations led by different members of Palaver to learn about ways of expressing emotion through their instruments, non-verbal communications tactics and finding character in music.

Students will have the opportunity to play side-by-side with Palaver to rehearse a piece that will be performed later in the evening.

Palaver will have an open rehearsal at the COC Cafeteria.  Students will be invited to watch and get to observe this professional musician-led ensemble in action.

There will be a Pizza Party provided by the SCVYO for all workshop participants, which will take place before participants and Palaver take the stage for the evening's concert.

Palaver will present a full-hour concert for students, parents and community members, including a side-by-side piece performed with the student-participants in the COC Cafeteria.

Musicians in the SCVYO and Symphony of the Canyons are encouraged to participate in this unique, growth-enhancing experience, culminating with a concert where students will perform along with the Palaver Strings Ensemble.
