The SCVYO has been providing young musicians with exemplary musical education and performance opportunities through expert instruction in an ethnically diverse setting; enriching the cultural life of the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond, for over 30 years. The SCVYO offers 7 ensembles from beginning strings and winds, to intermediate orchestra, and Novae Sinfonia for advanced musicians. We also offer Chamber Music, Guitar and Advanced Brass. There is sure to be an ensemble for you! Please visit Ensembles to learn more about our course offerings.

Novae Sinfonia, the newest ensemble of the SCVYO, performs “Jamming Saints” by Poovalur Srinivasan, to a rousing standing ovation at our premiere performance at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on December 1, 2018. Thank you to our Artistic Director, Derrick Spiva, Jr., for bringing this innovative, 21st Century genre to the youth of the SCV. Bravissimo to improv soloists Emma DeCourt-electric violin, Phillip Suwandi-cello, Gavin van der Linde-trombone, and Peter Walsh-cello.

Vijay Gupta, violinist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, founder of Street Symphony and recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Fellows Grant pays a surprise visit to the SCVYO!!!
