Auditions For Fall 2017 Now Accepted
The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra is now accepting audition applications for our Fall 2017 Season.  We welcome all young musicians to audition for one or more of  our multi-tiered preeminent musical education and performance ensembles.  We feature Symphony, Orchestra, Prelude Strings, Prelude Winds & Brass, Guitar Ensemble, SCV Brass Ensemble and Chamber Music.

Fall Auditions

Saturday, August 12th, 9am - 3pm
Monday,  August 14th, 6pm - 9pm
AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT, ONLY

Continuing Students:  Please review the Ensemble Requirements if you are interested in moving up to a more advanced ensemble, or joining an additional ensemble (for example, Chamber Music or SCV Brass if you did not participate in either ensemble last semester).  

SYMPHONY OF THE CANYONS:  All new and returning Symphony of the Canyons musicians must audition each Fall to continue your participation in the ensemble.  All new and returning Symphony members must complete the Audition Request and Pay Audition Fees on line.  You will receive an audition time upon receipt of your audition request and fee payment.  Please visit our Symphony audition requirements for details. Adult members are welcome to join the Symphony!!

CONCERTO COMPETITION:  All Symphony members (only) have the opportunity to audition for our Fall Concerto Competition.  You must perform the Exposition of your Concerto, at a minimum, during your audition, as well as the standard listed audition requirements. CHAIR CHALLENGE:  All returning Orchestra members (only) may schedule a Chair Challenge to move up within your instrumental section of the Orchestra.  You must complete an Audition Request and pay audition fees to receive your Chair Challenge appointment.  Chair Challenges will be held Saturday, August 19th.  Please visit our Orchestra Ensemble page for details.

YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Welcome to our Musical Family!!!!  The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra (SCVYO) Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports seven instrumental groups:  Symphony of the Canyons, Intermediate Orchestra, Prelude Strings, Prelude Winds & Brass, Guitar Ensemble,
SCV Brass Ensemble and Chamber Music.  Our goal is to provide young musicians an exemplary musical education and performance opportunities through expert instruction in an ethnically diverse setting, thus enriching the cultural life of the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond.
